Billing, trials, and how Premium works with your Apple ID.
Can I try PetPacket before paying?
Yes. The free tier lets you add one pet, keep up to three documents for it, build emergency packets, and export PDFs — no payment required. Premium matters once you have more than one pet, or need boarding and sitter packets.
How does billing work?
Premium is billed through Apple’s App Store using your Apple ID, so it’s managed with the same payment method as your other subscriptions. Monthly is $4.99; yearly is $29.99 (about $2.50/month).
Can I switch between monthly and yearly?
Yes. You can change plans from your Apple ID subscription settings at any time. The change takes effect at your next renewal.
Do my records sync across my iPhone and iPad?
Yes, on either plan. Sync isn’t tied to Premium — it’s tied to signing in. Once you’re signed in with Apple, your pets, records, and packets move through your own private iCloud, so both devices need the same Apple ID and iCloud switched on for PetPacket.
Is my data private?
PetPacket is local-first. Your records live on your device and sync through your own private iCloud — on either plan, never through our servers. Read more on the data we store page.
How do I cancel?
Anytime, from Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions on your iPhone. You keep Premium until the end of the current billing period, then revert to the free tier. Your records stay with you.
What happens to my records if I cancel Premium?
Nothing is deleted. Your pet profiles, records, and past packets stay on your device. You drop back to the free limits — one pet, three documents for it, one caregiver, and emergency packets — until you resubscribe.
Do you offer Family Sharing?
Not yet — a Premium subscription covers the account that bought it. You can still share individual pets with family members and caregivers from inside the app, and that works on the free plan too.
